I personally prefer big, but I wouldn't really be that upset if we changed to big easy

Most of the anti-EZ comments so far were all said about big when we were changing from 3v3 to 4v4(spam goals, no room to pass etc). Obviously if you aren't used to playing a certain style it's going to be more alien for you. Besides, I wouldn't want us to switch format so quickly after we have just settled into a good rhythm. We had a couple of disjointed seasons and now this one is going well I wouldn't want anything to disrupt the next season. We need stable expansion before we start messing around with things again.

There will always be a big easy cup being run alongside the main league anyway, so hopefully with expansion the cup will end up with group stages so it will be played more often, and then a proper discussion can be had about where the future lies(which is obviously 5v5 huge, you heard it here first).



On a personal note, I was dead against big easy when we originally discussed the move to 4v4 mainly due to the fact that the goals were massive and it was easier to score(cus we are all mentally retarded in defence). Having played it more often and got used to it I much prefer it. It's just a more expressive style and allows for more creativity and tactics. As already said, big has now basically just become "get it to the corner, flick it to DM, hope DM does something that creates a scoring chance". Big easy is a more central game that makes you think about passing moves and faster, 1 touch play.

Plus on the defensive side, with half-court press and bent penis tactic you can't really go wrong. They are the best things ever.

There isn't many big ez leagues out there, it'll attract more foreign players to join. If there was a big ez league playable for me then i would wanna play there. When I started playing on big ez i hated it but when i got used to it I started to prefer it. In big,teams pretty much have the same style of play, ie. getting to the corner and pass back to the dm when needed. From what i've seen theres alot of different styles to play in big ez in defending and attacking. UK do quite bad in the country championship and thats mainly because we don't have enough experience. There's players that should be in the UK squad but their judged on how they play on big in past cc's (i think).

What rolex said. Some teams here are familiar with 3v3 Big and barely understand 4v4 with proper defence and a forward. Even though I started playing out playing well on Big Easy I do prefer Big 3 Def because it's more fun, more dynamic and more challenging to score (you take away the advantage of having a wider goal).

Big is like a bike with training wheels. Big ez is for grown ups.

If you're shit, you won't enjoy playing on big ez and neither will your opponents. But if you're a decent player, you'll appreciate the fact that big ez without the 3defrule gives you more options strategy-wise. There's less space, positioning is more important and you have less time to aim/prepare your pass/dribble/etc. Maintaining good team chemistry becomes more important and more challenging at the same time.

On big every team essentially plays in the same way. And it's quite boring.

Sure, it's even more boring to play against a hardcore 4man bus, but the thing is that it happens very rarely. Generally only shit teams do that.

So, yeah, it's a question, whether FM is ready to switch to big ez completely. Probably the format in div2 could stay the same and div1 could switch to big ez.

if you can play big ez well then you can play big well so the champions league argument is invalid (not that anyone actually cares about the CL when it actually comes around). if you can play big though, you can't necessarily play big ez.

there's no restrictions on big ez so there's a lot more you can do. it requires more concentration and a higher level of skill and when everyone reaches that skill it'll be 10x better than big. yeah it's scrappy atm, but it was the same way when we changed from 3v3 to 4v4. it takes time to adjust and understand how to play it - and the thing with big ez is that there isn't a set way to play like with big, there's a lot more freedom to try different tactics.
