German Lag, German Host?

It is what it says on the tin.

German Lag, German Host?

Postby Aidizzle » September 20th, 2012, 8:24 pm

Seed vs Starlights was all set up to play on TT's server, and was below 100 for UK players after two minutes of ping test, perfect. Blaa, a german player and Santi (coincidentally also a German player) complain.

The match is then moved to a new host, who just so happens to be German. UK players all spike massively on a regular basis and make note of this pre-match. German players, no issue.

Despite a league admin being involved in the match, no alternative host was found and we were forced to play in this room. Every goal scored involved a UK based player dragging.

Now, in a UK based league comprised mainly of UK players, why was a game in a room with perfect ping moved to a foreign host for the benefit of two foreign players?

Silly silly silly silly silly.

bLaaa was fine on TT's host, it was ME (UK player if you hadn't noticed) and Santi that was lagging. I was looking for an alternate host, but your vice-captain agreed to play on the host we had.

Also last season a german player was one of our regular hosters.

tbh, looking at the replay and stuff i found that aid is right, we dragged on each second half goal and if two foreign players were lagging it's their problem.

Did you read what I said? Only one foreign player was lagging, I was the other.

I asked TT why he stopped hosting on TS, and he said "blaa kept complaining."

Considering how Aidizzle ping was at 1k ping and am-99 was at 200 ping most of the time in the match and if Rachel understands what fair play even is the match should be replayed.

Because I have international players. What we do is we test their host, if we're not happy. We try another one, if everyone is satisfied we'll play there. If one person at HT says they're not happy, we say, yup that's fine as long as you find another host. So in theory Rachel was right to find another host, but at HT you should have swapped or declined at the start.

I was looking for another host, we even offered to play 2nd half on their host (bLaaaa said - you can see in the replay). They agreed to play, we played. I won't be offering a re-match.

Play 1 half UK and then try another host if they re ally have that big of lagg problems.
But lagg is overrated these days... unless its unplayable players shouldn't complain.

You aren't forced to play on any host, if Aidizzle and Am-99 were lagging then why agree to play

^ that, especially when being streamed, I thought that was why it was at a different time to regular gametimes?
Streamed matches should have a proven host, e.g. Ghost, Jonny, TT etc

Rachel did actually ask me about 20 mins after leaving my room (to look for a better host) if i could try again. Apologies for not doing so but i'd tried hosting 3 games last night - in all cases some complained it was no good & no game was played - so i'd reached the limit of my patience...
