25. naho
(AM/ST) - FM Champion S5While naho or jalapeno (as he goes by on the forum) was around in the league the season prior with Bayer Neverlosin, it was Season 5 where this Swede came to become a household name in FM. Scored four goals in his opening fixture for Mighty Ducks and continued to deliver crucial finishes to see his team lift the title that same season. Anyone who's seen naho play will recognise him for his languid, highly technical style of play and his ability to see things on the haxball field that most others don't. He has come under criticism in the past though for his apparant lack of urgency in some cases, particularly in his short spell with Starlights in Season 6. Whatever you say about this ebullient player though, you can't deny that with the right players surrounding him he can be used to devastating effect, not least shown in the way he helped DEJA to their highest ever position (3rd in Season 7), and the way he connects with the team at Quickswans. There's also the small matter of the number of competitive goals he's scored, 97 as the mark stands today, which at present is a statistic unsurpassed by evryone except one in the league.
24. huub
(DM/AM) - FM Champion S8A key member in Hesur's HK Flamingo's squad which often defied the odds to stay afloat in Division One, the true level of huub's ability came to be apparent while in the Pablo Haxobar team. He joined MrP's men in Season 7 and of course the season after emerged victorious in the top flight, but unlike some of his colleagues, his importance and influence has never waned. Perfectly complimenting the ethos and playing philosophy of the team, the Dutchman is equally at home defending as he is keeping possession in attack, being able to open up other teams with guile and keeping Hannes safe at the other end he has become to be virtually indispensable. One of the most intelligent players to play in the league, and one of the main reasons why Pablo keep challenging for the Division One title.
23. anglo
(GK/DM) - FM Champion S5, S6Perhaps not the most technically gifted player but, like the player before him, his mental attributes have been shown to be in abundance. Began life in FM primarily as a goalkeeper for This Is Sparta!, he helped keep his team holding the best defence in the league in Season 4, with just 11 conceded in 18 matches. As his FM career went on, he found himself able to transfer his skills in positioning and passing up into the DM role, a position he often found himself in in Season 6. While he didn't make as significant a contribution to his second title win as his first, you can't say that when he was called up by Ovo he didn't make an impact. A true defensive bastion of the golden age of FM, anglo surely deserves to have his name up there with some of the greats.
22. aeRo
(ST) - FM Champion S10, S11To watch AC Dead People improve was to watch aeRo improve. Surgically attached to Maddude for most of his playing days in FM, the latter's talent was never in dispute, but it was only until aeRo was able to deliver the consistency and understanding he had with ACDP that they were able to have any sort of success. It began by storming Division Two in Season 8 and outplaying a Mighty Ducks side which, by the season's end, had featured such heavyweights as aguero10 and Roman, and by Season 10 his understanding with Mad (which had, to be fair, always been good) and his keen eye for goal had reached a phenomenal level; by then it was no surprise at all that he and his team finished first in the league in back-to-back seasons, a feat that had never been accomplished before in the 4v4 era. People may point out somewhat of a blip in ACDP's history when they finished a disappointing sixth in Season 9, but the more observant will not that aeRo had, for the majority of that season been playing with Secret Victory instead. By the time he left for Turnup Turnips in Season 12 he was able to underline his ability as a top-class player in his own right, guiding his team to a fair few unlikely wins. Has scored 84 goals in competitive games in total, the second highest mark by an English player and two more than his perhaps more venerated colleague.
21. Tjerna
(GK/DM/AM) - FM Champion S4, S5One of the first 'galactico' signings made by Girgensons for his Northern Lights squad, made in Season 3, and with his explosive style of play it's not hard to understand why. A master of rocket shots and quick interchanges between players, he was perhaps unfortunate to find himself often confined to goalkeeping in NL's championship season due to the presence of some even better technicians infront of him. That said, Girg was savvy enough to entice him over to Mighty Ducks for the season after and he proved his worth, providing the most assists for his team and becoming the first player to win consecutive championships with different teams; his crazy goal on the opening day of that season against Pablo Haxobar, albeit in defeat, set the tone for his contribution. Later joined ACDP but played only sporadically; it's a great pity that in the end he disappeared almost as suddenly as he arrived.
20. Jai
(GK) - FM Champion S10, S11A really technically magnificent goalkeeper, he added more and more to his game with every passing season in FM. In Cathletico's last season in the league, he managed to provide one final positive chapter in their history as he conceded just once in his first seven appearances for them, often playing behind somewhat mediocre outfield players. His concentration and solid positioning in defence saw his team post an unlikely challenge for promotion, though it would unfortunately peter out before the season's end. From then on spent short periods at various teams, notably at Joehan's Ducks which similarly to Caths the season before started strongly before finishing in a mediocre position, though this time in Division One. By the time he came to ACDP to first help them out of the second tier, and later with them win two Division One titles, he had a more or less complete package of being able to push himself forward and calmly distribute the ball from any position on the pitch, something which especially in Season 8 would add dynamism to ACDP's attack. The only thing that counts against him in terms of this list is that his appearencs in Seasons 10 and 11 were rather minimal, giving more playing time to Helios and mlfaijati respectively in the GK position. Nonetheless, in the games he did show up to, he was able to demonstrate his evident class, and had he been used throught each of their campaigns, may have saw ACDP win by even more convincing margins in the final standings.
19. iNoob
(DM/AM) - FM Champion S7A supremely gifted Italian who was one of Love London's most trusted servants in the post-OvoXo era of This Is Sparta!, opinions divide on whether he was truly suited to the defensive midfield role that he was often assigned to. First came to FM as part of Bayer Neverlosin's initial wave of [almost] all-conquering stars, and was always capable of adding more than a fair share of trickery to his team's attack. Though he left Bayer when things began to turn a little sour in Season 6 to join the Mighty Bantams, and it was following their subsequent failure that he joined TI Sparta and played in their last great season, becoming FM Champions via a one-off playoff system. While poor defending on the field and poor relations and activity off it eventually saw the disintegration of TI Sparta two seasons later, the team owes a lot to iNoob for its last hurrah domestically, and of course for their Champions League run which saw them become so far the only FM team to reach the final.
18. Hawk
(ST) - FM Champion S8Some may say he's too predictable, others may say he struggles to break down 'bunker' defences, but the fact remains that this Bosnian somehow keeps managing to score goals. Those who follow Pablo Haxobar's style of play need ask no further questions why; Hawk time and time again offers a masterclass in counterattacking haxball. Almost in the manner of a certain DEJA striker, Hawk revels in exploiting any kind of space, any kind of poor positioning by the goalkeeper, such is his precision from any kind of position that he's become Pablo's all-time record goalscorer with 59 over seven seasons, including 15 in Season 10 which saw him outscore both aeRo and Maddude in ACDP's first title-winning campaign. Now very much part of the furniture of FM, it seems whenever there's even the slightest imprecision from a team defending a breakaway, Hawk'll be there to punish it.
17. Rooney1878
(GK/AM/ST)It's perhaps ironic that maybe the best of the players that plied their haxball trade in FM with Pablo Haxobar wasn't in the team for their title winning season (Though he did have a major hand in getting them into Division One in the first place). Leaving all accusations of macroing aside, Rooney boasts the most notoriously strong spam in all of the league, and often uses it to devastating effect, some would even say overzealously, to power through walls and around posts alike. Though it would be completely unfair to dismiss him as such a one-dimensional player. His positional play is outstanding, and has been used to great effect in three positions; covering for Hannes or Formiga he's looked just as confortable as a goalkeeper as he has up front, and that's saying something, considering he's scored and assisted 112 goals since his arrival in FM in Season 4. A cup runner up in three separate occasions, it astonishingly took him until last season to win his first team honours with YeS All-Stars in Division Two, but don't sleep on this man at last taking the Division One title his ability richly deserves in the coming campaign.
16. Fritz
(DM)Always more renowned for his contribution to Your e-Sports rather than to Feed-Me, dipping in and out of Britains premier haxball league, you'd be hard pressed to say he'd ever not been a crucial player for whoever he'd played for. Someone who always made his dot seem bigger than it actually was, it was always a nightmare to try to break down teams of which he was a part, but although passing and positioning was always his creed, Fritz is no mere stopper. Experienced in both haxballing and mortal terms, his play showed his advoacy of fluidity in attack, as soon as he'd made the first pass from DM he'd often look to move into the space in front of goal to finish off moves that he'd started, often making his team's attacking unpredictable as well as accurate in terms of keeping the ball. Winner of Division Two on two separate occasions eight seasons apart, and although has just 4 full seasons to his name has amassed a princely 34 assists. The only thing missing off his CV being a Division One title, which he came one place away from in his short stint with h0bA in season 8. Like the player hanked a place behind him, next season could well be the one that he ticks that personal achievement off in a glittering haxball career.
15. rising.star
(ST)The last player standing in FM who'd played for the same team since Season 1, and it's fitting that rising.star was an outlier as a player in more ways than one. Though the baton of captaincy for DEJA passed around more than a fair bit, it's rising who's come to be most associated with the team as their doyen, being responsible for them punching above their weight on numerous occasions. His style of play was unique, if perhaps a bit stunted; with the ball under his control in attack he was capable of feats that could make any goalkeeper tremble, picking out finishes, both rocketed and not, that would take a genius to see and a level of arrogance to attempt. His maverick technique led to him being lauded as the best one-on-one striker in the league, and yet in a way his strength became in some way a barrier to him being seen amongst the true elites of European haxball; he could be somewhat overzealous in trying to finish off moves that weren't quite there to be finished, and lose possession a bit too readily in attack. That said, he was still a phenomenal force at his best, twice a top scorer in Division One, and in one season amassed a whopping 18 goals for DEJA. His record of 106 career goals puts him as the only player to reach 3 figures in competitive games, despite retiring from the game after Season 9.
14. Falk
(DM/AM/ST) - FM Champion S4When Girgensons set out to sneak some of the best talent in European haxball through the Season 4 draft, it should be quite telling that the first player he'd select was Falk (or catdog as his username was). If he'd played more than one season he'd surely be challenging for top spot in this list, but even in the one he did he did quite a bit to prove his class, being a major reason why the Northern Lights team he was on was so stacked. A player seemingly ahead of his time and with an innate sense of the flow and rhythm of the game, he wasn't afraid to pull off some of the slickest stalls and jukes against even the strongest opponents in his division. The famous juke against fap and equally impressive finish should serve a memorable example of just how good he was. Sadly a lot of the Season 4 recordings are have been lost so it's hard to guage, at least statistically, how he measures up against FM's current brightest and best. In terms of skill however, he was certainly one of the best players FM has seen, and that alone should merit the position he's included in.
13. Love London
(GK/DM) - FM Champion S6, S7OvoXo's right-hand man at This Is Sparta!, and eventual successor to him as captain, he was a player that was able to add the skill to the leadership that his predecessor seemed to lack. While not always considered among FM's highest echelon of goalkeepers, by the time his Sparta team were winning the playoffs to grant them the Season 7 title, he had become not only an enterprising goalkeeper able to set the tone for his team's attack, but a more than servicable defensive midfielder as well. It was partially his style of teamplay that his philosophy engendered that saw them nearly go all the way in the Champions League in the season following their second league success. It's never easy playing as attacking a game from GK as he often did, and while he would concede a few sloppy goals, his team's overall defence was still amongst the better teams in the league, as he was consitently able to provide the passes to keep his side on the front foot when needed to counterbalance the mistakes. A player that was a real trailblazer for FM in the mid-part of its history, in hindsight it's quite remarkable that he and his team managed to stay relevant for as long as they did.
12. Nino
(DM/AM/ST) - FM Champion S6The first spark that kicked off This Is Sparta!'s electrifying presence in Feed Me, and in terms of playing style he was an electifying presence of his own within the team. He swept all before him in Division 2 in Season 3, picking up the tier's respective golden boot, and his often maverick ability was one of many reasons why the team came so close to winning top flight honours the season after, attempting and foten pulling off some of the most audacious moves against prince and pauper. He had talent and guile, and despite having more than a bit of flair had a fantastic idea of when to use it to greatest effect, and had the mental wherewithal to rein himself in a bit in the times he had to fill in as a DM when YaaDon wasn't around. This flying Dutchman amassed 39 goals in his 4 seasons for Sparta, but upon leaving Ovo's team practically disappeared off the face of FM; he would never score another goal in the league, and although replacements like Razmo and stieber came in after his departure, no-one could really fill the void that Nino had left. A strikingly good player on his day, particularly in is Season 4 and 5 performances, Nino stands as the best product from the Low Countries to grace FM's top flight.
11. RTZS
(DM/AM) - FM Champion S5RTZS may have only played two full seasons in FM's top flight, yet in both of them be proved his undenaible quality. His first and more successful effort began with TI Sparta, though he was convinced early on in the season by Girgensons and CamSampbell to join the Mighty Ducks. It proved to be a masterstroke move for both parties, as RTZS asserted himself as the key player in the team, in no small part responsible for his side's joint best defensive record in the league, but he was also a master at retaining possession in attack, the midfield metronome often was responsible for the strangulation of defenses that dared resist his side as he was a nightmare to clear the ball past, and on several decisive occasions was eble to help strike the crucial blow; he scored the winning goal to beat TI Sparta in their penulatimate game and confirm his team as champions. He joined Starlights for Season 6 and was again a huge influence, particularly in the second half of the season where his smooth passing and clutch shooting saw him help defeat TI Sparta (twice), ARRIBA!, and Bayer Neverlosin, with a steely strong finish to win against the latter of the teams with two seconds to go. Despite his efforts though, he and his team would be pipped in both league and cup, and his appearance against bayer would be his last in FM. In many ways the best of the Swedish contingent that played in Feed-Me, and one of the most mentally astute of any player of any nationality to be successful in the top flight.
10. jonnyynnoj
(GK/DM) - FM Champion S1, S2Not only a pretty handy web designer, giving us the new FM website, but jonnyynnoj was the UK's first great haxball player. In the 3v3 era his ARRIBA! team was all-conquering, the defensive stalwart behind his attacking talents of F1 and deerhaunter ensured he and his teammates were crowned not only as the inaugural FM champions, but that they defended that title in Season 2. However what's remarkable about jonny is that he wasn't a man to rest on his laurels, always looking to improve not only his team, but himself as a player. Despite a constant influx of talent from the four corners of Europe, ARRIBA! never finished outside the top 2 until Season 6, which proved to be their last. It was no co-incidence that jonny played the least for his team in that season. During that time he was to assist his goalscorers on no fewer than 29 occasions, and his precision of passing as well as positioning always ensured his teams boasted mean defensive records. However his story doesn't end there, and midway through season 7 he joined DEJA. By then his prestige had taken somewhat of a knock but it was in that period that he proved without a doubt that he was still able to mix it with the best. Dooms at the time was rather ailing in the DM position for DEJA, but with jonny's signing they were propelled into their best ever league finish of third, his calmness being just the tonic that the subcontinentally influenced team needed. That jonny was able to constantly adapt and improve his stills despite being in FM's oldest generation, staying at the top level oif the game for more than half of the league's history, is proof of a greatness that few players can share.
9. pata
(GK/ST) - FM Champion S5, S6Here we have him, FM's most successful goalkeeper of all-time. First came into the consciousness for many of the FM community (although he'd spent a bit of time beforehand at Bayer Neverlosin under MoMo) as a shrewd early signing for Mighty Ducks in Season 5, and immediately made his impact with a defence splitting pass on is debut against ARRIBA!, at a time where jonny's side would still have been considered favourites. From then on he became more or less an ever-present in the lineup, and he conceded a miserly 7 goals all season to be the best of the division's custodians. He often found himelf second choice to Love London in Season 6, though he'd find himself starting a fair number of games in the middle of his second title-winning season, including a match in which he kept a crucial clean sheet against ARRIBA!; TI Sparta would be champions by the grace of just goal difference and it was a season in which every point counted for his team. From then on, the Finn kept rather quiet on the FM front before returning for the Real Rock'n'Rolla in Season 11. Though largely a disappointing campaign for Rén's team in their final season, what moments of success they did have were largely down to his steely resolve between the posts, keeping a clean sheet in two games against Fatality and even scoring the winning goal to turn over IKEA Deutschland. In his most recent season though he's been able to prove not just what a great goalkeeper he is, but as an allround player he's made a significant impact in YeS AllStars' domination of Division Two. Playing as a striker on numerous occasions he showed technique and flair, scoring 6 and assisting 8. Now stands a ral chance at becoming FM's first ever triple D1 champion, remaining with YeS for the coming league season.
8. Joehan
(AM/ST) - FM Champion S5The forward game that Joehan brought to Feed Me was often the most well rounded and thoughtful of any in the league, and in particular amongst his British compatriots. Equally capable of playing as an attacking midfielder and as a striker, he's been able to complement the contrasting styles of some truly great players of the calibre of Fritz, Booba, Tjerna and RTZS, capable of being both creative and pragmatic. His pinpoint finishing saw him not only treat Division Two like child's play in Seasons 3 and 4, but also take the cup on both occasions, proving his class against the best of Division One, although his cup final win against ARRIBA! at the end of Season 4 will still live on in acrimony for those following, with 'that' lag-goal going on to help them season victory. That notwithstanding, his performance in league and cup that season was extraordinary, 24 goals and 12 assists marking a record in terms of total points in a competitive season for FM. To complete his hattrick of titles (Division Two, One and Cup), he contributed usefully to the Mighty Ducks' victorious campaign, weighing in with 4 goals and assist each, despite having to share out playing time with a few illustrious Swedes. Later stints with Arriba and a return to team leadership with the Ducks in following seasons were not as successful, though his performances in either team would register positively in comparitively mediocre seasons. Indeed his Ducks team were on course for much of the season to challenge for top honours had activity not shot through his squad. Eventually retired quitely; if you were harsh you could criticise him for not seeing through his potentially great G.I. Joehans team into Division One or for only being truly dominant in Division Two, but even so he could only beat what was put infront of him, and his sustained playing strength for more or less five seasons is testament to what a fantastic player he was.
7. Isco
(DM) - FM Champion S10, S11Isco came somewhat late to the FM Party, beginning in Season 7 with a very strong Israeli-centred Poke Attackers squad that would dominate Division 2, but he's one of only two players in that team to taste any real success elsewhere. His aggressive forcing positionaly play at DM proving too much (to no surprise) for any in the second tier, but when he brought his game to ACDP in Season 10 you could say his presence was at least equally as important as anybody else. Sure, players such as Psykout and aeRo had greatly improved in Maddude's team, but Isco provided an extra bite that was to lead to the apotheosis of ACDP's play. By allowing Maddude to play further forward and seldom allowing the ball to escape his opponents' halves, he allowed the innate creativity his UK-based teammates had to flourish in a way not previously seen before. The midfield conductor was far more than just a facilitator though, as he would often prove his ability to crash through the middle of the goalmouth and bludgeon defences away that were trying to shut up shop. In both seasons he was with ACDP he found himself a D1 champion, and you can hardly argue against the fact that the team were at their strongest when he was in their starting lineup. After that team went out at the top, he found himself predictably highly sought after, and was picked up by YeS AllStars. Though he appearances last season were somewhat uncommon, he again picked up the division title, meaning that in every complete season he has played, he has finished as league champion of his respective tier; a formidable record to underline a masterful player.
6. kAoS
(DM/AM/ST) - FM Champion S3His time may have been comparitively short in FM, completing just three seasons, but you could make a compelling case for him being the best player in his team in each. His first was with Aidan's Deadly Monkees, and was integral in breaking the stranglehold ARRIBA! previously had over the league, routing their rivals 6-0 on the way to the championship in Season 3. That season he finished as the highest overall goals and assists tally, being involved in a monstrous 25 goals across 14 matches. His sharpness and guile were unsurprisingly well suited to the transition into 4v4, Deadly Monkees made a strong start to the Season 4 campaign before the team exploded following controversy as a game against fellow title-challengers TI Sparta involved a seemingly goalstopping pause. Aidan jumped ship in protest and the team's record was expunged before the season's completion; kAoS's efforts ultimately were to no avail. Missing just one season however before his return to FM's top tier, he can be perhaps most attributed to bringing about Starlights' most successful ever period in FM. Able to show craft and calmness in about any situation, his quick thinking and excellent positioning underpinned Starlights' fast-moving style, reflected in his season's statistics of 12 goals and 11 assists. Ultimately of course they weren't quite able to take the league title but he was back again fighting the season after, helping secure Starlight's only major silverware in winning the Season 7 cup. He proved just as adept a forward player as he was a defensive one; he's one of a select for who can say their game knew no genuine weaknesses. His final goalscoring tally is staggering; underlining the fact that he played 3 full league seasons, incredibly he's notched up 51 goals in all in league and cup, statistics befitting of an FM legend such as he.
5. Reus
(AM/ST) - FM Champion S6If there's one player that I think most of FM can agree that they'd never want to face it's this little Italian maestro. Up until last season, it looked as if his impact may have been as brief as it was striking; between his victorious Season 6 campaign and Season 11 he'd not kicked a ball in anger in FM, but since reappearing in an Italo-centric context, a Reus renaissance looks to be on the cards, and he almost picked up where he left off, falling just short of the league title with Aston Birra. Still, when talking about Reus what still stands out are his Season 5 and 6 campaigns; perhaps the greatest two-season spell of any individual player. Even in a wider context he was a relative unknown before he joined Bayer Neverlosin when they were in Division Two, but he made certain that by the end of it he wasn't. On the pitch, he seemed to have the answer for everything, making almost any situation look easy, he displayed flair and precision on equal measure; tricking his way past all comers in the second flight, he was a menace to any defence. Just to underline how unplayable he was, he scored 17 goals and finished as the division's top scorer, in spite of playing just half the available league fixtures. Picking up the Division Two and cup titles in his first season, his sights were fully set on completing the ensemble with TI Sparta the term after. As if it were even possible he was able to step up his performance another notch, being just as effective in the top flight as he was the second; his control of the ball and ability to trap it instantaneously was just a joy to watch. The only accolade he'd have missed was losing out the golden boot to aguero10 by a single goal, but his explosive, dynamic, and sometimes breathtaking skills were never unnoticed. Here's to hoping he can add another similar chapter with Tallawahs and provide us with some more scintillating haxball this current season.
4. Ced
(AM/ST) - FM Champion S5, S6Ced's the player who's come closest to winning a triplet of FM top-flight titles, and what's most remarkable is that he nearly did it in three consecutive seasons. Looking at his record he's played a deceptively small number of games for the impression he's made, but despite him joining for pretty much just the second half of his seasons with Mighty Ducks and Reivers Design, and being rotated in and out of the lineup at TI Sparta, he was always able to give his team a considerable lift whenever he did play. Still a bit raw coming into the Mighty Ducks side, and even when he was signed appeared second choice to Tjerna, his quality was still evident as his skills and quick thinking provided contributions to five of their league goals, providing a timely boost to help see them over the line in Division One. What really appeared to come into fruition in his Sparta Days next season was his decision making; even with the maverick talent of Reus and the vision of YaaDon he was able to interpret their intentions almost flawlessly, keeping up the sharpness of attacks with composure and finesse. By the time he arrived at Reivers Design (incidentally one of the worst names ever for a team in FM, but we'll leave that discussion for now), he was ready to use his nous to drag his team up to the top of the pile by the scruff of the neck, and despite being available for only half the game and with decidedly inferior teammates as he did with TI Sparta, he recorded the same goals and assists tally as he did the previous season, his contribution gluing together his team's title challenge. Alas, he had the misfortune of having to win his third title by way of a playoff mechanism never used before and since in the league, and he was to fall agonisingly short in the end; despite finishing first in the league table, he and his team were beaten in the playoff final by Sparta. Still, two out of three ain't bad is it?
3. YaaDon
(DM) - FM Champion S6, S11Considered not just one of the best players in FM's history, but also of all time in any competitive setting, YaaDon's level of play in the defensive midfield position has set an enduring standard that few have come close to living up to. The most consistent presence in This Is Sparta!'s lineup between Seasons 4 and 6, you'd be hard pressed to say that anyone else was more responsible for the team being amongst the league's elite for that period. As Karajan would conduct some of the world's leading orchestras in his time, so YaaDon would conduct some of Europe's leading talents to produce some of the most sublime short passing play the league has seen. Never over-eager to try to do everything himself, he just had a fantastic ability to read the game in terms of his teammates and the spaces in his opponents' defence; as be in the perfect position to not just recieve a pass but to play the ball on himself, with minimal hesitation. His 20 assists might not seem quite so extraordinary over three seasons, but he had an ability to always seem to get the best out of his forward partners, highlighted by the fact that after players such as Nino and Ced left Sparta to join Bayer Neverlosin for Season 7, they weren't able to form a team remotely as good as the team they departed, Bayer eventually capitulating and disbanding that same season. When he returned to Division One with ACDP he was gvien a valedictorian welcome, even after so long out of the game he still managed to turn in some excellent performances to assist in securing the league title for the second year running for Maddude's team, even if there was perhaps some noticeable erosion in his precision. In terms of league titles he stands as the most decorated player in FM's history, with two Division One and Division Two titles apiece, but mroe importantly he'll go down as the finest DM the league has seen, and the brightest jewel in the glittering crown of Ovo's historic Sparta team.
2. aguero10
(DM/AM/ST) - FM Champion S4He came, he saw, he conquered. That tended to be the general synopsis of aguero10's appearances in just about any competition with which he graced his presence: league honours in Germany, Italy and Serbia fell to his teams, as well has becoming champion of Europe no fewer than three times in 4v4. In fact just about the only competition of note that he hasn't won was the Country Championship with Slovenia, and even then he was only denied by one of the great international sides in the Russians of 2013. Before we get too distracted his FM achievements ought to be mentioned. After Joehan he became only the second player to complete the triple crown in FM, winning both league titles and cup honours, and after having done that then set an individual record for the highest number of goals scored in a single top-flight season in the 4v4 era (19) that stands to this day. Ofte derided in his time as a disloyal mercenary, the obvious flipside to this label is the fact that he was in demand by half the league on a regular basis. The kid just knew how to win, similar to the style of players like kAoS and YaaDon he was an instinctively good decision maker; he could tell the exact moment to make the right pass, to get the ball clear from defence, to beat the keeper with a shot he hadn't a hope of saving. It was not only that but the fact that his skillset was near universal, he could play the three outfield positions near perfectly and link up with just about any player (with the possible exception of wawamax) to positive effect. Sure, his Bayer Neverlosin team was stacked to the brim with raw talent, but could you honestly say it'd have functioned as well as it did for the one and a bit seasons while he was there without him? The team had skill yes, but it rarely if ever practised as a team and had constant ingoings and outgoings, but with aguero10 there it was always a team to be feared. Perhaps it's no surprise that when he left for Starlights in Season 7 the Neverlosin team quickly collapsed in on itself. Later on in his FM career, the teams he joined tended to be less successful, in particular signorelli's Seedstitch. Their first and only foray into Division One was my most metrics a car-crash, and yet with aguero10 tagging along they somehow finished only 7 points off the eventual title-winning tally, albeit also 6 places. In perhaps stark contrast to many of the teams he joined, aguero10 was one of the most precise, clinical, versatile and fluent players that ever stepped upon a hax pitch.
1. Maddude
(GK/DM/AM/ST) - FM Champion S10, S11What elevates Maddude into the category in which he must surely be seen by any of Feed-Me's faithful is that he doesn't just represent the manner in which he himself played, but for much of his time in the league, his entire team. Mad was always a versatile player, from his 3v3 days with Cathletico and MasterChefs he was equally adept at playing either the goalkeeping or outfield positions, and even at such an early stange of his development was unlucky not to see his efforts converted into a league title, particularly in Season 2 with his Caths team where they finished second to ARRIBA!. The team name that most people will associate Maddude with of course, is AC Dead People. Although founded by Ghost, it has to be said that Mad was the one who put the lions share of the effort into its success, always striving to transfer the raw creativity of the individual way of thinking onto an entire team of four. Players like TTom, Stevo, aeRo, Psykout, Witsel... the list goes on, all came into the project at various stages, at times achieving a most mesmerising display of universailty as positions were interchanged with genuine fluidity. Of course league performances always had to include an element of restraint to that, but the team was always being refined behind the scenes, taking their novel attacking patterns as their pride. Fashioning this side to be successful wasn't achieved overnight, with two consecutive seasons (6 and 7) that both barely got out of neutral gear. However by Season 8 Mad was beginning to reap the rewards of his perseverence as they swept aside all comers in Division Two with an undefeated season, Mad himself the pick of the players at DM with 12 assists, the highest tally in the division by a considerable margin. Season 9 appeared as a blip in his team's progress and yet still he found himself as Division One's top scorer, something that contributes to the fact that Maddude has the highest number of individual awards for either goals or assists, topping either chart a whopping seven times. With no small help though from a couple of Israelis, Maddude was able to take ACDP to its zenith which would be sustained over two league seasons. by then Isco was often taking up the duties as DM to allow him to fully cut loose up front in his more natural positions of AM and striker, from which he would contribute to no fewer than 38 goals. But what lifts him above is peers is that he achieved such a success not just by his individual merits, of which there are many, but the fact that he was able to build his team in his own image; along the way Psykout and aeRo had become not just technically gifted but visionary forwards, Helios has enjoyed a season playing better than he had ever done in FM in goal. Put simply Maddude is FM's greatest player because he was able create a team in Feed-Me with the greatest playing philosophy, and had the ability to stand at its centre as a leader both on and off the field.
