For next season, the winner of the playoffs will be crowned champions of division 1. While some teams (and players) might find the end of a season to be stale, there's presumably 25 other teams who disagree with you. Involve the community in making decisions rather than trial new systems.

If it doesn't work, a team who has spent countless of hours winning every game and gaining the 1st spot will have to beat worse teams in order to win again, and that's what's to be lost. Nothing lost is a terrible way of arguing your views.

Nothing will ever equal the excitement of season 4 finale, that was some serious shit, but the only reason it was so good is because it was a 3 way tie, a 2 way tie would seem pretty dull to me imo.

First off we don't have any affiliation with that league.

How are we trying to destroy this league?
How can you say you will not like this play-off system? Have you ever played in any league that uses it, do you know what it will mean? No.
If you haven't tried it then you cannot judge it, we are as jonny said trialling it, THIS DOES NOT MEAN ITS PERMANENT, so instead of whining and complaining you could actually try something else and if it is not approved and does not work out well, we'll go back to being YeS 2.0.

Basically if you do not like it and aren't even willing to try it, fuck off.

I'm not talking about what teams have to lose or gain through a playoff system; obviously some teams may lose out and others may gain. I'm saying that as a community, as a league, FM has nothing to lose by trying new formats such as this. FM will continue the same if the playoffs fail or become stronger if the playoffs prove a success.

After watching my home town win the league 3 years in a row and consistently be the best team by far outside super league, yet only be considered 'champions' once, I've experienced the play-off system first-hand. It's shit. It's utter shit. I don't agree with it at all.

You think it works? Why do you think rugby league is undergoing serious talks to change the format? It's because it doesn't work. But hey, you'll just reply "this is an online game, not irl". But really, it makes no fucking difference. At the end of the day, it just doesn't work.

but then again you could also make a league wide playoffs, winner of each division face each other in a playoff to determine the overall winner of FM.

sounds crazy? I guess. But there's as many reasons for that crazy measure than there are for what you are proposing:
let's try it and see if it's fun.

i fail to see any other reasoning in favor of playoffs, because if you start to approach the matter using competition coherency then it all falls apart for one main reason: league competition is there to gift consistency, nothing else. If you add a playoff system you are neglecting the relevance of said consistency and making it an equal competition to those we already have (cup, champions league) were it's mostly about getting out there on the big nights and going all in.

I'm all up for change to keep things fresh but this is really too much american for me even thought I'm a NBA fan, I wish they would defend on regular season, and they really don't, because of this .
