Feed Me Haxball

Hey everyone,

Please vote for which format you would like in the next funcup during mid-season break! Note that everyone has 2 votes!!

Here are the possible choices:

5v5 Huge

Either 4def or 5def - can be discussed later if this is the winner.

5v5 Koreaball

4v4 Big - Draft

Draft funcup so captains take turns to pick players.

4v4 Big - Random

Players randomly assigned to different teams.

4v4 Big - Hidden Names

Each team gets given a real life team and players change username to a player from that team. Only funcup organisers will know who is what team.

4v4 Vertical

Same size as big except map rotated 90 degrees.

6/8 Man

Every player starts with avatar 3 and moves to their own goal. Its everyone against each other and after you concede you subtract 1 from your avatar. As players get eliminated the map gets smaller with less goals. Last person standing wins.

Davis Cup 1v1/2v2/3v3/4v4/5v5

Best of 5 series with a game in each format.

people never manage to stay secret and then it becomes less fun.

maybe add a stirke system for this?
-if your opponents guess which team you are
-if you guess the wrong opponents

you obviously dont have to make a guess.

2 strikes or something and you are out?
(dont tell teams how many strikes they got, or whether ppls guesses were correct/incorrect)

then u gotta be both sneaky and good to win.

Interesting idea! I like it.

Whichever format wins then we can look at modifications like that which might make it more fun.

i got another suggestion

maybe we can do something like haxolympics, where each team does different maps and make it into a tournament

collision racing, 6man etc.

One problem with this is I wouldn't want to have to kick teams out of the tournament who haven't really done anything wrong. For example a team could win every match and not tell anyone who they are but because of their distinctive play style they could be eliminated. Doesn't seem that fair and we might end up with lots of teams eliminated by this rule rather than through losing a match.

I do like the idea though to try keep it more secret. Maybe instead if there was 2 competitions, 1st is regular group/knockout tournament and 2nd is a kind of league table with all teams. You get +1 point for any team/player guessed correctly and -1 for any incorrect guess. Both competition winners can be funcup champions and get ts tag or whatever. Or they could play vs each other in an extra final match.

What do you guys think?

I agree soc, it would be unfair when we lose every game 8-0 making it obvious it is us, so we are then kicked out.

What do you mean they didnt do anything wrong? They should have played more inconspicuous.

Its just a fun cup, but maybe you still want the regular los santos vs yes final.

But surely everyone still wants to try and play good haxball even in a funcup. Playing worse on purpose won't be fun l guess?

I don't mind either way though so we can try it.

nobody have to play worse on purpose, a better tactic is to play so good noone will recognize you.

maybe some would have to play a bit differently, but maybe they would even find/learn something new that they like.

No one's going to completely change their style of play just for a fun cup

Hidden names is kinda fun, but people with "different" play style like naho, me, [...] will always get busted so it won't be fully anon anyway.

It would be more fun, if we remember well what happened at Euro 2016 funcup when all teams already know vs who they are playing cuz most cunts can't save them identities..
