You're probably right. He's favourite to get the United job and IMO it's a risky move for a manager with no experience competing with the best clubs in the world, but then again neither did SAF when he joined United.

I think that Sir Alex values loyalty most, and seeing as Moyes has been part of Everton for like 11 years or something like that will prove to be the deciding factor in making that decision.

Isn't Fergie on the board now? He will probably have a say on who replaces him, and I'm pretty sure he'll still be around to give talks and advice and stuff, so it's not gonna be that big of a loss.

I must protest how people bandy about the terms 'no experience' when talking about managers like Moyes and Laudrup as if these men hadn't even seen a football in their life.
Speaking of Moyes, he's been in management for fifteen years, eleven of which have been with Everton in the Premier League and has worked with a budget that's often been a lot less than the expenditures of teams that go on to get relegated have had.
Sure, the Manchester United job's going to have a lot bigger expectations, but on the other hand he's going to have better resources to work with, in terms of money and players at least. It's not as if the rules of football are going to change for him just because be's moving to a club with better standards.

Not saying he'll easily be able to replicate the results of SAF, but to say he has no experience really doesn't do the man justice.
