Feed Me Haxball

I signed up for the forum because for a while now I've been having an awfully debilitating problem with Haxball that is making playing the game extremely difficult. Essentially, in a majority of rooms my ping will do this:

It spikes very consistently about every 10 seconds or so. This is odd for a number of reasons:

-It doesn't just happen in foreign rooms, it often happens in UK rooms too
-Although it happens in a majority of rooms, it doesn't happen everywhere - some rooms are fine
-It's also weird because the spikes are so consistent and usually aren't followed up, proving they're just an anomaly rather than actual lag
-I've tried a variety of ways of fixing it, including changing the options present in the image above, but nothing works
-This only started a few months ago, before that all rooms I could join worked fine

Does anyone have any explanation? Has anyone had similar problems and knows a way of fixing it? If so I would be very grateful as this problem has become very annoying as you can probably imagine.

Can you post some pingtest.net & speedtest.net results?

Are you using a wireless connection, and which operating system are you running?

your thread title makes it seem like you've murdered someone and don't know where to hide the body or summink

Pingtest is erratic - it went from a B to an F to a C. When a room works though it works well, I rarely get noticeable lag, especially within the UK, unless I go too far away as you might expect.
I am using a wireless BT connection and Windows Vista.

I suggest you connect your pc to the modem/router via an ethernet cable and test it that way before you do anything else.

Yea definitely sounds like some sort of network interference. Would changing network channel sort this out Griff?

After doing the ping test it gives you a 'Forum Link' which you can copy. Can you do that and then post it here?

have you tried turning it off and on again?

It's possible and worth a shot, however I have seen this kind of thing before with some wireless adapters - some drivers can cause Deferred Procedure Calls (DPC) latency - this is most noticeable in audio streaming etc.

It that is the cause, you can try updating the wlan driver.

Also Vista and a few other Windows versions have an issue with wireless authentication - see this following post for a potential fix PCHelpForum.

First things first though, try with an ethernet cable.

your flux capacitor might need de-fragulating, have you tried altering your waffle sprocket?

To be fair, I like the idea of de-fragulating things.

Defragulating wouldn't be of use in this case. Might need to recalibrate his ding dong.
