As all of us know it's world cup time. This makes it difficult games getting played with a regular schedule. Most of the games would get postponed due to kick off time of world cup games. I'm assuming most of the people wanna watch the games.

Best suitable time to start the season would be around 3rd July.

Also another problem is that our ssns (S4 and S7) while summer time were always bad due to less activity because of exams and vacations.
That's why we should/could consider a late launch of S10 (~August/September) and could hold some tourneys/funcups (with awards) or any other event instead to fill up the gap. Yes I'm aware that people might lose interest because of the late start, don't hit me.

Either way we would like to know which teams would be ok with both launches (while world cup or around August/September)

It isn't just the world cup in June, some people have exams as well as you have seen I've struggled to keep seeds active and revise at the same time.

Make it after World Cup.

Allow more Wildcards, but force teams to use those extra Wildcards given a day in hindsight - rather than 2 hours as is the current rule.

A long break is ok. But its already 8 weeks till the early date of 3rd July.
A break of about 4 months is really long, im not sure if such long stop is beneficial for the league/community.

Any chance of an interim tournament to fill the gap? This place does get quiet during the summer (holidays, freedom to leave the house, etc) and the numbers aren't really there for an 18 team league without wildcards galore, but a chopped down competition could exist.

Something like this perhaps?
10 teams in two groups of five, teams in each group play each other once over the course of 5 weeks (just weekly games, and they don't need to be fixed to Thursday/Sunday, give teams some flexibility to arrange).

1st in each group play 2nd in semis, then a final, 7 weeks in total. This could kick off in early June and end in late July, then you have 3/4 weeks to kick off Season 10 proper.

If we start in September especially all the new teams that have signed up witll have probably got tired of waiting, plus a lot of peoplewill have probably stopped caring anyway if you break for so long.

How about a draft league in between?

Open registration, hope that a decent amount of players will commit for a fun league und than name 8 or 6 captains.

Than draft starts. Each captain can pick one player. Once all captains have picked, another round goes on. So at the end we should have 8 random teams with a pretty even skill range.

Than start the draft league. Set game days. Schedule matches and create a separate table.

How about just moving game times to maybe 17:00 (18:00 CET) and continue like we always did - I am sure that it is possible to manage the game times according to the world cup games.

The break should not be longer than usual imo

World Cup games kick off at 5pm and 8pm UK time, so 7/7.30pm games on here would still work.

not everyone is watching world cup at home :S
i rather go out with friends to watch the games. also there is nothing wrong with an interim season.
a mix of aidizzles/mlfs/rodney suggestion should do it
