Justice for Jai and Tanzim
Posted: July 18th, 2013, 8:58 pmAs some of you may know (although it would have had to be by word of mouth because the admins haven’t made a thread about it or anything, except in the mysterious Granddad Talk section), Jai and Tanzim have been banned from Feed Me for 5 and 8 games respectively. This ban is for “impersonation” or “assisting an impersonation”. The only ‘proof’ that the admins have for this alleged impersonation, or so I gather, is the ‘fact’ Jai had Momo’s name on teamspeak while the match was played. The only ‘evidence’ for this is that Perkins has Jai as a friend on teamspeak and saw the [Jai] tag before Momo’s name. However, conveniently, there is no screenshot proof of this and it is simply Perkins’ word against the word of the accused. Now, for such a serious ban, you would expect there to be solid proof of an offence occurring. As dooms (an admin) states in a conversation with Tanzim about the bans, there is none:
Dooms also stated that another piece of evidence suggesting it was Jai as MoMo on teamspeak is that MoMo was on a Mac, and Jai uses Mac’s. However (before any suggestion of impersonation or bans even came about) MoMo stated himself that he used his brother’s Mac for the game, as stated in this screenshot: http://puu.sh/3Eggy. Also, even if Jai did join as MoMo on teamspeak, there is no rule against this, and teamspeak should be and is independent of Haxball and Feed Me matches.
We can look at the comparisons to similar scandals, such as Girgensons’ attempted impersonation back at the end of season 4. No bans occurred due to the lack of evidence/proof against Northern Lights and Girgensons, very similar to this situation.
The final similarity is the alleged impersonation by Ghost of Edgar Davids while jonnyynnoj was captain of ARRIBA. Now, no bans have been given to either Ghost or jonnyynnoj about this, although there is a lot more proof of jonny actually doing it, as there are witnesses to it who state that it occurred, namely fap, CircleBoy, Edgar Davids and deerhaunter94. When dooms is questioned about it, he says:
The most telling point of this section of the conversation is where dooms says (twice):
This simple statement is exactly our argument for the reversal of Jai and Tanzim’s banning, as there is simply not enough proof that Jai impersonated for Tanzim.
We ask for the admins to reverse this ludicrous decision to ban Jai and Tanzim, and allow them to return to their teams to play out the remainder of the season, hopefully without incident.
