Aaand so we're back for another season, and it's that time again..

Thanks to everyone that participated last season. This season we're going with "To Write Love On Her Arms", a charity described as such:

To Write Love on Her Arms is a non-profit movement dedicated to presenting hope and finding help for people struggling with depression, addiction, self-injury and suicide. TWLOHA exists to encourage, inform, inspire and also to invest directly into treatment and recovery.

This topic is particularly personal to me and I'm sure will apply to other members on the site too, so I especially would appreciate everyone who chooses to take part. As always, this is completely optional and up to you whether you take part or not.

The website is: http://www.twloha.com/ for if you want to take a further look at the movement and find other ways to get involved.

Players:

Rachel - £2 per goal/assist, £10 if Starlights win the Cup, £20 if Starlights win the League, £10 if Starlights finish in the top 3, £10 if kAoS gets more than 8 assists this season.

Not condescending the charity choice but there really must be better ones out there. From what I gather this charity is for people that have fucked up their own lives, whereas I think that we should give people who haven't been given a proper chance in life the preference in my opinion. Of course this is just generalising the people that are supported by this charity but just something simple like 'Wateraid' would be better, coz y'know - we kinda need water to live innit.

Why does someone have to have fucked up their own life for them to suffer from depression or other mental health issues? Do you not maybe think that there's other more serious factors? Bit ignorant to say that really.

Then just donate to a specific mental illness charity, I just feel like there are better choices. I just feel like this charity would help some people who have messed themselves, despite how it does help others who are 'not to blame' for what has happened to them. My opinion anyway.

l0l shit-tier argumentative skills rachel. There probably is better and more well-known charities for this though, but to be honest these are never chosen to say you can only donate to this charity, you can donate to the same chairty every season or any of your choice. This was just started to give people the idea of donating to a charity not limiting them to one we pick.

Great comeback Rachel. If you disagree with someone about something, take a jab at their age, very constructive!

At least he acknowledges the fact that self-injury and depression charities probably do not need much financial support, while charities involved around actual illnesses such as MS do.

Again to reiterate the point made, while I believe that support such as this should be given to people who suffer from clinical depression and addiction, I will be donating money to a different cause.

1 pound for every goal I score.
10 pounds if Cathletico get promoted.

In the developed world mental disorders are actually considered to be illnesses as well. And as with any other illness, there's a whole array of different types of health professionals, institutions and types of medication that are used to treat people suffering from these mental disorders.

Neuropsychiatric conditions are responsible for up to 4000 disability adjusted life years per 100,000 people in the Western world, as compared to ~40 hours of disability adjusted life years for MS, which is a difference of a factor of 10. Furthermore, MS is not curable contrary to many mental disorders.

Your attitude is incredibly narrow-minded and discriminatory and I would be pretty disgusted if I had a friend or a close family member who's currently suffering from mental health issues.
