Anti 4v4 Collective

It is what it says on the tin.

Well if you're that uncomfortable without the ball, then maybe GK is the right position for you

>> I'm not comfortable with the ball because through my own fault (playing nearly all the time in goal) i haven't really given myself the chance to develop the skills needed outfield.

If you still want to defend though I would recommend Defensive Mid as an alternative for 4vs4

>> Several have said I should try that - perhaps they are right though certain parts of my game are nowhere near the standard required to play that position effectively.

As a DM your biggest responsibility is to make sure your GK never ends up in a 2vs1 situation

>> I've had a few bollockings already from Joe for leaving these situations for the opponent :) Sometimes it's difficult, just as when in 3v3 gk, to know when to challenge & when to hang back.

marking front post

>> You've spent too long with Cath Vargo - time to move on before front post syndrome really sets in :)

It's all depending on your GK and how you both adapt to each others play

>> I guess that comes with time playing together - Cath and Opsee have shown what can be achieved with practice...

I was actually expecting a barrage of FP chatter from Cath when Joe & I played a series of ts games with him - so i was pleasantly surprised when he only mentioned it once :)

I prefer the post for the simple reason that I suck in corners Image

If you ask one of the big ones here, they'd tell you about what happeed about 2 months ago

I argued like hell in the chat to make the league 3s this season, and it succeeded:P

But I was proved wrong tbf, I find 4v4 much better and I feel it has improved me as a player. I thought it was very bad because i had never played much of it.

Try playing some 4s lek :)

Maybe that's why i enjoyed our games so much the other day Lek - partly for the company, and partly for the fact you were playing the format i'm familiar with :)

I like 4v4 a bit more than I did a month ago but 3v3 is still more fun Image

I also have some lag problems which is obviously worse with more players so I'm with Lek.

Hopefully 4v4 big with 3 man defence rule, but if people fail to grasp such a simple task then I'm afraid it'll have to go to 4v4 Big EZ

Nope, they'll learn the hard way by forfeiting the game should they continue to abuse it.

4v4 Big, 7 minute halves, 3 man defence rule. Simples.

Does one person have to be designated as the forward striker & respect that rule Ghost - or can that person be changed to suit the game situation? - ie provided one person is always respecting the rule, is that ok even if it's not the same one?

Pretty much this. Usually 4v4 relies on having two forwards, and if the 'supporting striker' or attacking midfielder so to speak should happen to be a lot further up than the main forward, then it allows the striker to quickly get back and help and leave the attacking mid up. It takes a bit of practice to get used to but it's really not a difficult rule to follow, considering most strikers tend to cherry pick anyway.

id much rather big easy tbh, ill find 4v4 on big gets crowded and the only goals tends to be flukey, i dont see how the 3 man defence rule is going to be enforced is it the fourth man cant help defend or must he stay in opposition half?
