Feed Me Haxball

So I want to bring more variety to FM when it comes to tournaments, meaning things other than haxball. Achtung is a simple, yet perfect game to have this kind of tournament. If you want to check it out before signing up, here's the link!

The tournament will consist of 16 or 32 players, depending on how many people want to join. There will be 4/8 groups depending on the same thing. Then there will be knock-out stages until the final.

For the group stages, there will be NO power-ups. The reason for this is that you'll have to show your actual skill within the group stages rather than just going over a circle to defeat your opponent. However, power-ups will be allowed in the knock-out stages, to keep things lively and interesting. Group stages will have everyone within a group play once. HOWEVER, the point system will be a little different.

It takes ten wins to win a round on achtung if you're on 1v1. If you win your game, you gain 10 points, while the loser gets however many points he/she may of gotten, even though they lost. This means that there are ways to win your group without necessarily having to win most/all of them. If the score of 10-9 is reached, but is still playing because of the 2 point ahead rule, whoever has the 10 points will get the 10 points, while the person with 9 gets 9 points.

So, how will I know who wins or not? Well, I'm trusting you guys. To get results in, someone from the two people have to take a screenshot [PrtSc] of the finishing results, and PM them to me so I can update the results.

1v1 in achtung is unbelievably boring, especially with no powerups (there's more luck with powerups on but with just 2 people playing and all that space, you want powerups there). Tried it on ESL for a bit and got fed up :/

you don't put it on the biggest map..put the setting to 'fitting' and it'll go smaller to suit 1v1.

Well, 1v1 means that you're using pure skill, rather than relying on another person to get the job done. This is just a test to see if it will actually work out. If this is successful, then I'll get other tournaments going, with teams and such.

I tried this on ESL, most of 1v1 is making your own areas and circling, and you have to repeat it 10+ rounds. There is some skill in that but with more people you have to be much more aware - more people = less space, more chance of getting trapped and more people getting power-ups. When you're leading you have to survive with everyone going after you. Try killing fap or jonni, you just end up with a suicide. More skill needed in those games and much more interesting :)
