but to generalise id say vision, anticipation and reactions

I'd say anticipation/positioning is essential for everyone, while good playmaking/dribbling is especially important for mids and technique/creativity/short passes for strikers. And, obviously, if you're passive and shit at tackling, you shouldn't be a defender.
