I want to explain to you and all players why we decided like this because i think nobody knows anything about that and its normal, we announced but didnt explained any reason.
As you asked, We can reach 32 teams with old rules or new rules but thats not our main point. Still with new rules we will not accept any random teams to HCL tournament.
Leagues are really changed and mostly side-leagues doesnt have any website because mostly they are organizing on Discord. So we if we accept the teams with old way, when we check the applys we cant see lineups, fixtures, matchdays etc.
So if there is no reliable data coming from the leagues, we would like to choose the teams ourselves. Because even big leagues doing some tricks, giving some spots for their league teams for HCL. ( They change the team names and rosters of the teams that finished the league at the top 4 but did not continue and transfer them to another captain. )
We want to say to them with new rule : Dont do any trick as a team captain or community admin, just apply and we will accept your team if you deserved.
On the other hand as you know HCL is European based tournament and if we accept with old ways mostly just Turkish teams will join HCL tournament properly. I mean except Feed Me Haxball, there is no any European big community in here on high level. We need some balance for that and thats why we published our decision like that.
Also we have another 2 reasons too but if i explain all it will be too long so i think i explained enough information.
In the end, HCL is still = HCL.
For example;
If you are Isco & ROCKY BALBOA & ES Pierre & Misaj & Maze & Gilbert & wroz & Mor & Meyer & aMp : That means you are respectable team captain and your lineup is regular. You played in communities past seasons, you can apply with your regular lineup to HCL.
If you have regular team in any league and not high level ( for fun, for friendship ) ; You can apply to HCL, we will probably accept.
If you created any random team and you are not the team captain or co-captain in any league: Sorry but we will not accept your apply.
Firstly we will accept high level teams, then we will choose regular teams.
