I actually like to think that we were doing something so good that the foreigners chose to come here without being asked.

THAT'S MY STORY AND I'M STICKING TO IT!

I suppose it's rather inevitable that FM has become pretty international, what with English being the world's lingua franca.

Still, I find it slightly depressing that out of sixteen players who played in our streamed games on Sunday, only one hailed from the British Isles, and with ten from Germany, it's at least understandable that Radu would reach the conclusion that FM is becoming YeS in terms of it's playerbase, even if it's not an entirely correct one.

Since the original idea (correct me if I'm talking bollocks here, Mad) of FM I think was to give UK players a proper league and community, even if we don't want a foreign player limit, might it be germane to suggest that at least ONE player from Great Britain and Northern Ireland must be on the pitch at all times in the game for both teams?
It may seem tokenistic to force teams that are entirely non-UK based to take on a British players, but it would mean that they'd get experience playing with good quality teams and be better players for it, hopefully raising the standard of 'the British game'.

Ah, but I'm just an ignorant little Galaxy upstart; what do I know?

Do you really speak like that?

There's no problem with it, it's captains choice to have UK players in their squad just like it's captains choice to not have UK players in the squad. Foreign player limit is a shit idea and basically to say we shouldn't let all the YeS players play when YeS lets us use their ts server and lets us have players and teams in their league is ridiculously ungrateful. Some uk players will consider YeS as their main 4v4 league too.

There's other leagues available if people want to get experience and that, if you want a full uk 4v4 league you can make one, having a foreign limit or forcing teams to play shitty uk players will make people leave the league and reduce the quality.

Vicious circle, innit? UK players are shit because they don't play in FM, and they don't play in FM because they're shit.
It's up to us to give them a chance methinks, in other 4v4 leagues they may be afforded less patience, and they're definitely going to find it harder to start their own teams.
All I'm saying is we should be giving our captaincy spots to those who'd consider FM as their primary league, not just copy-pasted YeS teams who'll maybe turn up to games and not talk to the rest of the community.

I mean, we saw all the dolorem about UK team playing badly, and maybe if we at least try to expand the pool of players, and have them playing in some of the better, mostly pan-European teams, we'll do better next time.

Anyway, I don't mean to bitch and moan, I'm just offering my thoughts so no need to whap out the ad-hominems :| .

@Joehan - ??? The English language has lots of words, and being a posh twit I like to make use of them.

Reserve league just seems the best option, going off whats been said (inb4 neg train). We won't have to have a foreign player limit, we wont be forced to have UK players play in the league, but it also gives those players not considered good enough a chance to prove their worth. I know it didnt have much interest and this that and the other but it's only my two cents judging by the posts on this thread.

Your post assumes there are plenty of UK players willing to properly captain an active team week in week out and not give up after a few results don't go their way. This is not the case, hence the lower number of teams this season. If only things were as simple as you are making them out to be.
