But I feel bad for some of the FM reserves (and other players) who wont get a chance in the league because the captains can sign a european national player just to keep up with the other teams. I know that's what the reserve league's for but they wont have a chance when captains can take their pick out of the top players in other leagues. Those people play in other leagues already.

We have some great players who are improving but will they have to get stuck with reserves forever? How can they get motivated and stay active? I know you can say they will get trained in reserves but they wont get much individual advice and help. Image

I'm really grateful for being signed in s2 even though I was new to FM and haxball, so I'll be disappointed if other players wont get that same chance. I guess I'm trying to say that I don't care how many foreign players there are, as long as the teams are balanced and give inexperienced british players a chance too.

But its not like people is the reserve leagues who are British should have priority over anyone else the fact remains if you are good enough you will play it as simple as that. Also there is a few on this forum who play in other leagues so its not as if they are being held back because they are not whatever nationally the league contains of.

The best form of motivation is knowing you are not good enough and need to improve, that's how people get motivated by knowing they need to get better.

The way you say give inexperienced British players a chance I really don't get why people feel the league has a social responsibility for these players. They don't. Everyone no matter what nationality should be picked based on how good they and their attitude. The leagues competitive by introducing worse British players means the league standard decreases and it sacrifices the growth of all the players in the league with playing with a better quality of player means you get better so hence vice versa playing with worse players makes you worse it defeats the purpose in the league being competitive.

tbh UK nooby players just gotta play in public rooms to improve their skills like we all did. When public rooms get boring because u're high skilled is when you join leagues.
Anyway I think anybody who plays a minimum and makes efforts to join and play in FM rooms would join a reserves team or a div2 where they sign noobs like me :D

The reserve league is what I think we should really focus on next season. This league can be the ladder to which these "british" or newer FM players who are hungry for an opportunity can come up. There's proof that this works (i.e. stevo, toast, Jds...) and if the players impress, their own captain can just take them up instead of them waiting in the free agents thread. Its less of a gamble as well as you already know the player and how active he/she is. There has to be a value to the league tho and that means no impersonating players and matchdays happening on the scheduled matchday and etc..

To say teams are signing foreign players because British players aren't as good is understandable given the quality of the league, but perhaps the reason British players aren't good enough is because they aren't getting the league experience and are only playing in pubs against noobs and average players which isn't going to turn them into top players.

I am a fairly new player compared to most but since joining British league's I and most would say I have improved a great deal. Playing with and against experienced players, watching replays of the best players and just learning from them in general really helped me develop.

I don't think there should be a foreign player limit but I do think that with every league the quality will grow after every season and better players will join and the good or average British players will struggle to get a team. I personally feel that not enough is being done to help British players develop in any league but I understand if the quality is high then the captains will feel the need to sign top European players to stand a chance against other sides in the league.
